Ho Qingyuan Solo Exhibition - "Soulscape"

Introduction:

Ho Qingyuan's solo exhibition - "Soulscape". This exhibition brings together Qingyuan's artistic works created with digital media such as mobile phones and iPads since 2021. These works continue the stylistic features he formed in oil painting, and also show the new changes brought by digital tools, opening up a whole new artistic vision.

Qingyuan has always been focused on the inner spiritual world of humanity. His works delve into the deepest emotions and the self within people, often exploring the true essence of human existence. His creations, through the interplay and layering of basic abstract elements such as lines, color blocks, and geometric shapes, metaphorically represent the various simple yet complex relationships an individual has with the world.

"Soulscape," also known as "Images of the Soul," represent the inner spiritual world's images. These images may be vague and elusive, defying clear understanding, yet they are purer and more spiritual, echoing the concept that "the great image is without form." This concept finds its roots in Eastern philosophy, asserting that an infinite essence exists beyond the tangible world, incapable of being expressed through conventional visible forms. Qingyuan's art captures this ambiguity by employing fundamental abstract elements to create an atmosphere of spirituality and emotion, expressing profound contemplation and observation.

"Soulscape" explores the deep level of the inner world and existence in an abstract and spiritual way, and needs to transcend the boundaries of material to feel its deeper meaning.

Heidegger believes that the essence of existence lies in "Dasein", that is, the care of human beings for their own existence. Qingyuan delicately perceives the changes in the world and people's hearts, records the Soulscapes of this era, and embodies the emotional experience of "Dasein". In the technological digital age, we are easily obscured by external things and forget the true meaning of existence. Qingyuan, through his minimalist artworks, reveals the genuine emotions deep within, awakening our thoughts on existence. His works present the relationship between people and the world, reflecting the anxiety and confusion of people in the contemporary world. It touches the source of life. Like a thunderbolt, it allows us to find the meaning of existence in the lost, and see the light in the heart in the chaos. In the dimension of the meaning of existence, it allows us to make decisions in the sinking, and thus return to the truth of life.
